This page is aimed at flooring installers — LVT, engineered wood, carpet or resin — coming onto a job after we've poured and handed over a liquid screed floor. It's a quick technical reference rather than a full specification, covering the things we're most often asked about on handover calls.
If you need the underlying moisture data or product batch information for a specific job, we issue that as written documentation at handover — this page is general guidance, not a substitute for job-specific figures.

Screed type quick reference for flooring installers

| Cemfloor (cement-based) | No mandatory laitance sanding for most mixes; prime per datasheet before flexible floor coverings |
| Gyvlon / Gypsol (anhydrite) | Laitance sanding required; use a primer compatible with calcium-sulphate substrates |
| Either, over UFH | Confirm commissioning heat-up has been completed per manufacturer guidance before covering |
What we hand over at completion
- Screed product, batch reference and poured depth
- Written moisture test result and date of test
- Any defects noted at handover and how they were resolved
- Confirmation of UFH commissioning status where relevant

Points worth checking before you start
- Confirm the moisture threshold required by your specific adhesive or underlay manufacturer against our test result
- Check whether perimeter expansion gaps have been accounted for in the screed's edge-strip detailing
- For resin or polished finishes, confirm surface preparation (grinding/shot-blasting) requirements separately, as these go beyond standard screed prep
- Flag immediately if you find any surface contamination, cracking or inconsistency not noted on our handover sheet
A note on moisture thresholds
Different floor coverings and adhesive systems have different acceptable moisture thresholds — what's dry enough for LVT with a moisture-tolerant adhesive may not be dry enough for a solid wood floor. Always check your specific product's requirement against our written test figure rather than assuming a generic "screed is dry" sign-off covers every covering type.
