Pour day looks calmer than it sounds — most of the visible action is compressed into a few hours once setup is done.

If you've never seen a liquid screed pour before, the pace can be surprising: what took days to prepare (insulation, membrane, UFH) is poured, levelled and finished in a matter of hours. Knowing roughly what to expect helps if you're planning to be around, or need to arrange access for the crew.
The exact timing varies with job size and depth, but the sequence of events is consistent across almost every job we do.
Here's a realistic hour-by-hour picture for a typical residential pour.
A typical pour day, hour by hour

Arrival and setup (first hour)
Pump or mixer positioned, hose run laid out and protected through the property.

Final pre-pour checks
Datum levels confirmed, insulation and membrane given a final visual check, UFH pressure confirmed.

Pouring
Screed is pumped into the area, working from the far point back toward the exit, following the laser datum.

Dappling and levelling
The dappling bar breaks surface tension and helps the mix self-level to the datum lines.

Spike-rolling
A spiked roller releases trapped air from the surface for a sound, even finish.

Protection and clear-down
The poured area is barriered off, hoses and plant cleared, and no-traffic signage put up.
What to arrange on your side
- Clear access along the agreed hose route the evening before
- Somewhere off-site to be, or a way to avoid the pour area, for the day
- Power and water available on site if agreed as part of the setup
- Confirmation of who's on site to unlock doors and answer access questions
