For builders and main contractors

Floor screeding contractors who pour to your programme

Liquid and traditional floor screeding for builders, main contractors, developers and self-builders across Devon, Somerset and West Dorset, from our Exeter base.

A screed contractor, not a directory

Search for screeders or a screed company and most of what comes back is a directory or a lead service. Exeter Liquid Screeders is a floor screeding contractor: the team that prices your job is the team that pumps, levels and hands over the floor. There is no middleman between your site manager and the screeder on the day.

For a builder or main contractor, screed is one trade in a long sequence. What matters is that it is booked, poured and handed over on the date in the programme, so the next trade can start. That is how we plan every pour, whether it is one extension or a row of plots.

How we work with your programme

  1. Step 1

    Drawings and dates

Send the plans, floor areas, build-up and target pour date. We check the depth, the cover over any underfloor heating and the right mix for the finish.

  2. Step 2

    Written fixed quote

A per-m² price stating the product, depth and area it is based on, back the same working day.

  3. Step 3

    Pre-pour check

Insulation, membrane, edge strip and heating pipes are checked before the truck is booked, so pour day is not lost to a fault found on the morning.

  4. Step 4

    Pour day

Pumped, levelled and finished in one visit. Whole floors that would take days by hand go down in a morning.

  5. Step 5

    Handover

Moisture readings and a written record for each floor or plot before the next trade takes over.

Developments and multi-plot sites

On new-build sites the biggest saving is in grouping plots. A pump day covers roughly 300–500 m², so plots that are ready together can be poured in one visit, with one mobilisation cost and one set of site arrangements. Each plot still gets its own moisture record and sign-off.

  • Floors finished to the flatness class in the specification, with records for the O&M or QA file
  • Screed over underfloor heating poured with the system left under pressure
  • Plot-by-plot moisture records for the flooring contractor or inspector
  • Written per-m² price stating product, depth and area

See our new-build housing screed guide, screed moisture testing and the floor screed cost guide for indicative rates.

Where our screeding contractors work

We are based in Exeter and cover Devon, Somerset and West Dorset, travelling further for the right job. Exeter and our regular area carry no travel surcharge; edge-of-patch sites have a small mobilisation fee stated on the quote. Questions from builders and site managers

How much notice do you need to book a pour?
The earlier the better. Get in touch while groundworks, insulation and heating are still going in, not once they are finished. Extension pours are commonly booked within about three weeks, and we reply to every enquiry the same working day with a price and our next available date.
Can one pump day cover several plots?
Often, yes. A liquid screed pour covers roughly 300–500 m² in a day, so neighbouring plots that are ready at the same time can share one visit and one mobilisation cost.
Do you provide flatness and moisture records for our QA file?
Yes. Floors are finished to the flatness class agreed in the specification, and each plot gets its own written moisture record and sign-off, so your flooring contractor or inspector has a document per unit.
Which screeds do you lay?
Cement-based liquid screed (Cemfloor), anhydrite screeds such as Gyvlon and Gypsol, and traditional sand and cement screed where a hand-laid finish suits better.
Do you work directly for homeowners as well?
Yes. We work for homeowners and self-builders as well as builders and main contractors, with the same written quote and the same crew.
