What depth of screed over UFH pipes do you recommend?

Minimum 50mm cover above the highest pipe — usually a 65-75mm total slab over insulation. Thicker if you want more thermal mass.

Will the screed crack as the UFH heats up?

Properly isolated at the edges and at doorway joints, no. We pour with the pipes pressure-tested and follow a controlled commissioning schedule.

What if a pipe leaks during the pour?

Pipes are held at 6 bar through the pour. Any pressure drop is flagged immediately and we stop, fix and continue — this is exactly why we keep the manifold under test.
